Good Friday at the Auction

Here are some photos of my local auction.  It amazes me how after all this time, this "country" auction remains the same.  My area isn't so rural as it was 25 years ago when I moved out here, but these folks come out of the woodwork every Friday to hang out at the auction.

I admit that I bought some crap stuff but already the new things have melted seamlessly into this junk heap that I like to call home.

I find that watching an episode of hoarders on tv makes me feel very normal!  Sadie thinks so too.

Welcome to Homers.  Go get a hot dog or some pie and I'll save you a seat!  Get me one a those empty boxes will ya?

There are Holiday ornaments and Santas every Friday no matter what time of year it is!

a box of flatware.  Who'll give me a dollar and go?  That's auctioneer speak,  hon

Back there's the snack bar.  On the right is where you get your number

I'm gonna bid on that barber's pole!

I wanted this

Friendly runner boy
holding up two items up for bid.  They were thrilled that I was going to blog about them-those who understood what a blog is.

So, there you have it.  Homer Snyder's auction in Hampstead, MD.  A Friday night entertainment that can't be beat for people watching and fun stuff to give as gifts.

this guy was sitting in front of me.

On a more normal note, I also went to Panera and bought some tee shirts at Ann Taylor Loft.
Phew, it's good to get that contrast between worlds sometimes.

More Later,
